 Twister

    by Anne Kuo Lukito

Twister blue select

I noticed that Mother Nature creates many things in spiral patterns, from fern fronds to shells to whirlpools. Thus, I was inspired to create my own. The spirals of Twister start at the bill and brim, traveling upwards until they merge in a vortex at the crown.

Twister is unique in that you start by making the brim (bill), and then you attach it seamlessly to the hat body and work the turned hem at the same time. This is a pattern for the more experienced knitter, or one who is not afraid to try something more challenging.
