Brioche knitting creates wonderful textures and patterns that are reversible. However, sometimes the fabric it creates can be bulky and more challenging to shape. With Lakedale, I challenged myself to design a shaped, stream-ined garment featuring brioche techniques. The jacket fronts feature small two-color brioche cable columns that lend a striking visual impact with slimming vertical lines. Since the patterning is completely reversible, the collar can be worn straight or folded.
The jacket body is worked bottom-up with a two-color brioche edging. Front plackets and set-in sleeves are worked separately, then seamed to the garment body. The sleeves are worked in the round until the sleeve cap shaping.
