Since an early age, Eleanor Roosevelt (October 11, 1884 – November 7, 1962 ) has shown much compassion and passion for equality. In the early 1920s, she worked with the Women’s Trade Union League to advocate for women’s and workers rights to establish a reasonable work week, minimum wage and to abolish child labor.

As First Lady from 1933-1945, she was very vocal in her support of the civil rights movement and opportunities for minorities and women.

Throughout the rest of her life, Mrs. Roosevelt continued to play a very important role in domestic and international politics and in advancing human rights. She also served as a delegate to the United Nations. Her work in human rights has earned her many honorary degrees, awards and accolades.

The hat is worked flat then seamed together with the 2 shirred panels, while the visor can be worked flat or in the round. Instructions for several different accessories will allow you to personalize and change the the look of your hat.
